Who runs this: भारत GeoQuiz is a product operated by SenseAI Labs, the trading name of Mucheli Pankaja (a Sole Proprietorship based in India). Under Indian law a sole proprietorship has no separate legal personality from the proprietor — for all KYC, merchant-of-record, and statutory purposes the legal name is Mucheli Pankaja. We are the data controller for personal data processed by this service (per India\'s DPDP Act 2023) and the merchant-of-record for all paid subscriptions, processed via Razorpay. Contact: support@bharatgeoquiz.com.
We store your email, display name, and quiz progress so the app remembers you across sessions. We don't sell your data and we don't share your account with anyone. You can request deletion of all your data any time.
We don't ask for your phone number, address, payment details, government ID, or any biometric data. We don't track your activity outside this app. We don't have ad pixels, analytics scripts from third parties, or session recorders.
All data lives in Google Firebase (Authentication + Cloud Firestore), in the asia-south1 (Mumbai) region. Google is the underlying processor; their security practices and certifications apply. We don't replicate your data to any other server.
Only you. Firestore security rules enforce that users/{uid}/... subtrees are readable + writable only by the signed-in account whose UID matches. We (the operators) can technically access the database for debugging or support, but we don't browse it casually + we don't share it with third parties.
Firebase Auth uses your browser's localStorage to remember your sign-in so you don't have to log in every visit. That's the only persistent client-side storage we use. No advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers.
These rights apply globally. If you're in India they're recognised under the DPDP Act 2023, in Europe under GDPR, in California under CCPA. Same response either way.
India's DPDP Act 2023 defines a "child" as anyone under 18, and processing personal data of a child requires verifiable parental consent from the child's parent or lawful guardian. We do not implement a verifiable parental consent infrastructure.
Therefore: Bharath GeoQuiz accounts are restricted to users 18 years or older. Every sign-up flow requires you to affirm you are 18+ before an account can be created. Existing accounts (created before this policy was added) are required to re-confirm 18+ on their next sign-in or are signed out.
Under 18? You can still use the full NCERT catalogue without an account. The complete NEW NCERT History + Geography content (Class 6–12) is accessible without signing in — progress is saved in your browser's localStorage only, which is not "processing of personal data" by us under the DPDP Act. No email, no account, no tracking.
UPSC-focused packs (Power Plants, National Parks, UNESCO Sites, Tiger Reserves, Ramsar Sites, Biosphere Reserves, Current Affairs, plus the Old NCERT trilogy) require a paid Pro subscription, which requires an 18+ account. Under-18 users can see those topics exist but cannot subscribe — by design, not by accident.
We chose this design deliberately. A great no-account experience for students under 18 is more useful than a parental-consent-form gauntlet that would block 80% of them.
The free tier is planned to be ad-supported via Google AdSense in the coming months. Here is how ad targeting will work across user categories:
tagForUnderAgeOfConsent=false), subject to your consent under DPDP / GDPR. Granular ad-personalization controls will live in Settings → Privacy when ads launch.Inappropriate or misclassified ads can be reported to support@bharatgeoquiz.com — we will block the advertiser where possible. The consent banner + ad-personalization controls will be documented here before any ad first serves; this paragraph will be updated to reflect the actual implementation at launch.
The factual content in our flashcards is drawn from publicly available educational material: NCERT History + Geography textbooks (Class 6–12), the UPSC Civil Services syllabus, Survey of India publications, and other public-domain sources. Geographic + historical facts cannot be copyrighted. The specific selection, grouping, wording of questions, and arrangement of cards is our editorial work + is © भारत GeoQuiz. NCERT itself owns its textbooks; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by NCERT or UPSC.
The flashcard content — questions, answers, item descriptions, period chips, landmarks — was authored with the help of Claude, an AI assistant built by Anthropic. A human editor directed the structure, defined the topic taxonomy, reviewed sample outputs, ran NCERT cross-checks, and shipped the final catalog. Claude generated the prose + filled in factual details from its training on public sources (NCERT textbooks, standard reference works, UPSC material).
What this means in practice: the content is our best approximation of factual knowledge derived from those sources, not an authoritative reproduction of any single textbook. For high-stakes exam prep (UPSC mains, board exams), please cross-check critical facts against your official NCERT textbook + the latest UPSC syllabus. Reported errors are read + folded into future updates — email support@bharatgeoquiz.com.
If we change this policy materially we'll bump the effective date at the top and, for signed-in users, surface a one-time notice in-app. Continued use after that counts as acceptance.
